Important Dates
Blackout Period:
Winter 2025: January 1st - February 28th, 2025
The Blackout Period is when new student coverage is not yet activated. The student must pay for any medical appointments or procedures new students undergo during this period. Still, after the conclusion of the Blackout Period, students can retroactively submit their claim (using all applicable receipts) to be reimbursed.
Change-of-Coverage Period:
Winter 2025: January 6th – 21st, 2025
The Change-of-Coverage Period is when students can apply to opt out of coverage, self-enroll, or add dependents onto their plan. Please note that students registered in the fall semester who choose to keep their SUS Health & Dental Plan cannot opt out during the winter Change-of-Coverage Period.
